Practical Nurse Course (PN)

This course prepares students for entry-level employment as practical nurses in hospitals, home health care, convalescent homes, and related health service professions. The curriculum includes basic and clinical foundations of nursing, medical and surgical nursing, maternal and infant care, nursing of children, psychiatric nursing, pharmacology, and geriatrics.

PHLEBOTOMY COURSE

 

 

 

  Phlebotomists will be able to master the art of drawing or retrieving blood from a vein.  Students will gain proficiency in different methods of drawing blood, such as Vacutainer Method, Winged Infusion (Butterfly) Method, Syringe Method and Dermal Stick (Finger Stick) Method.  They will also learn how to perform a bleeding time test and glucose testing.

 

  Nursing Assistant Course

The Nursing Assistant program is designed to prepare students for employment opportunities in the roles of a Nursing Assistant, Nurse Aides and Orderly.  The course provides classroom instruction combined with clinical instruction for the primary care of clients in long-term and acute care facilities.   Students will learn the aspects of providing basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Students will learn all the clinical skills required for the NA occupation; including providing daily hygiene, bedside care, vital sign measurements, positioning and safe transfer of clients.
